Kia ora, hello and welcome. I'm Matt Williams from ExerciseChange.co.nz

I created this website with one central purpose in mind. To help people make positive changes and achieve their exercise and fitness related goals.

Professionally, I am a teacher (BTcLn) and work as a trainer and programme developer. Much of my work involves training groups and individuals about how to motivate themselves and others, with the ultimate goal being positive change. 

Personally I am a devoted husband, father and fitness fanatic. Through my personal experience as a competitive athlete, fighter and exercise enthusiast I know how hard making changes can be. Even harder is making changes and sticking to them. 

Utilising both the professional and personal knowledge I have built up over the years, I have put together a collection of information, activities and resources that I’m sure you will find valuable. My hope is that by gaining an insight into motivation, and learning about change as a process, you will finally have the knowledge to achieve the things you have always wanted to achieve.

I believe that when it comes to change, too many people go in blind, with only a vague sense of what needs to happen in order to succeed. My goal is to assist you to build up the knowledge you need to make change a reality. Not just in the short term, but in the long term too. By getting smart about motivation and the process of change you will be in the best position to achieve your exercise and fitness related goals. 

It is my sincerest wish that you utilise the information within this site to change your life for the better. If I can assist you in any way to do that, please let me know, I would love to hear from you. 

If you have a question about exercise motivation or change I would be more than happy to receive it and will do my best to answer. In the meantime enjoy the site, arm yourself with knowledge and take control of your life!
