Why I Wanted to Interview Jane
As well as being a sport and exercise enthusiast Jane is also a Physiotherapist who regularly works with people struggling with motivation. Through her role as a Physiotherapist Jane has come to develop a unique insight into the various attitudes and mindsets of both the motivated and the unmotivated. It was this insight, in addition to her own thoughts on exercise motivation that I wanted to capture during our interview. 


Sporting Achievements & Accomplishments
  • Jane has been a runner since the age of 11 where she ran anything from the 100m to cross country races. Currently Jane prefers to run middle distances (5-10Km) and no longer competes.
  • During her last two years in New Zealand Jane has competed in the Lake Taupo cycle Challenge as part of a relay team.
  • Jane also enjoys cycling. As with running this is something she has done since the age of 11. 
  • Since moving to New Zealand Jane has regularly snowboarded and swam.
  • During high school Jane was involved in a lot of athletic track and field events and won sports woman of the year twice when she was aged 15 and 16.
  • Jane annually cycles around parts of Italy with family members.

  • Jane is a qualified Physiotherapist, BSc.(hons). She studies Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton, UK. 
  • Jane currently works as a Physiotherapist at Burwood Hospital.Jane is British and was born in Pembury, UK.
  • Jane moved to NZ two and a half years ago on her own and currently lives and works in Christchurch.
  • Jane has traveled to and lived in Nepal for 6 months when she was 18.
  • Jane loves travelling, meeting new people and trying new things
